Daniel Ingram-Brown
About Daniel
Daniel Ingram-Brown is an award-winning children's author, creative writing educator and founder of Original Ink.
Based in Yorkshire, he writes stories filled with magic, mystery and wonder. His books include Bea's Witch: a ghostly coming-of-age story, and his forthcoming work explores everything from gothic fantasy to folklore and the power of imagination.
Daniel has spent many years working with children, young people and adults to explore the power of storytelling. His work brings together creative writing, imagination and wellbeing.
He lives in a house built from the stones of a ruined castle — which seems a fitting place for someone who spends so much time imagining other worlds.

Writing, Workshops and Research
For Daniel, writing stories and helping others discover their own creativity go hand in hand.
He has spent many years working with children, young people and adults in schools, universities and community settings. He was a First Story Writer-in-Residence in eight schools, an Associate Artist with the Story Makers Company at Leeds Beckett University, and a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the University of York. He is currently Patron of Reading at King James School in Knaresborough.
Daniel holds a PhD in Creative Writing and Education and is currently a Postdoctoral Research Assistant on Creative Writing Together at York St John University, an AHRC-funded project exploring how adults and children can develop understanding and wellbeing through writing stories together.
He is also Chair of the Society of Authors' Authors North group, supporting and connecting writers across the region.
Across his writing, workshops and research runs a shared belief: stories can inspire wonder, nurture imagination and bring people together.
